GLENDALE, Ariz. – Fortune 250 company, Waste Management celebrated the grand opening of their brand new, state of the art training facility in Glendale, Arizona. The facility is the first of its kind in the State and will serve as training grounds for drivers and technicians serving Western and Central United States, as well as Canada.
The new regional driver training center boasts 57,000 square-feet of training space. The space includes a driving practice course and classrooms. Located at 43rd Avenue and Camelback, the center will have 2,500 drivers and technicians training year-round. Every week there will be a new group of 60 trainees bringing year-round economic impact to the City.
“The team at Waste Management invested a significant amount in purchasing and renovating the property to provide a world class training experience for their drivers and technicians,” said Director of Economic Development, Brian Friedman. “This location is another vote of confidence from a world-renowned corporation as they come to grow in Glendale. Our goal is to provide the best development experience for them and continue to engage once they are operational as we further cultivate this partnership,” he added.
Waste Management strives to create a family environment for their employees. To achieve this, trainees must live in the community during their two weeks of training. One of Glendale’s newest multifamily projects serves as the hub for trainees when they come to Glendale. Proximity to the Westgate Entertainment District and Tanger Outlets provides a range of options for food, shopping and entertainment during their stay as it does for Valley residents and visitors.

The City of Glendale is proud to add Waste Management to the growing list of businesses who call Glendale home and the team looks forward to helping them GROW WITH GLENDALE!
