Lupe Conchas is honored to serve as the City Councilmember for Glendale’s Cactus District. As the current School Board President in the Alhambra Elementary School District, Lupe has witnessed the challenges facing the community and has worked tirelessly to ensure every resident’s voice is heard. His leadership has been shaped by a commitment to equity and ensuring that all of Glendale receives the same attention and resources as other parts of the city.
As a small business owner, Lupe understands the importance of protecting taxpayers and supporting local entrepreneurs. He has firsthand experience navigating the challenges of bureaucracy and is dedicated to fostering an environment where small businesses can thrive. Recognizing the importance of the Cactus District’s large manufacturing base, he also champions labor unions and apprenticeship programs, creating pathways for young adults to secure stable, meaningful employment.
In 2023, Lupe faced the challenges of steep rent increases—experiencing a 14% hike in just one year. This personal experience drives his advocacy for fair housing policies that promote affordability and housing stability across Glendale. He is committed to making Glendale a place where families, small business owners, and individuals can succeed without fear of displacement.
Lupe believes in the power of grassroots democracy and transparency, ensuring residents have a voice in shaping Glendale’s future. He is focused on bridging divides, lowering costs for residents, and preserving the city’s rich history while embracing opportunities for growth.
Lupe invites every resident to join him in creating a brighter, more inclusive future for Glendale—one built on fairness, opportunity, and collaboration. Together, he envisions a Glendale where every resident feels valued and heard.
