Glendale, Ariz. – On the heels of a 2019 announcement that longtime partners Ball Corporation, Rauch Fruit Juices and Red Bull chose the city of Glendale to build a U.S. manufacturing facility, Red Bull is now expanding those operations.
The expansion will consist of a 700,000+ square-foot distribution center. Construction of the distribution center, located at Reems Road between Olive and Peoria Avenues, is scheduled to begin in early 2020 and the facility is expected to be operational in 2021.
“This expansion by Red Bull speaks to the strength of Arizona’s economy and what our state has to offer growing companies,” said Arizona Governor Doug Ducey. “We congratulate the company on their success and thank them for their continued investment in Arizona.”
According to Market Research Reports, Red Bull leads the United States’ eight-billion-dollar energy drink market with 35% of the share. “Red Bull’s decision to increase its presence in Glendale is a testament to the talent, infrastructure, pro-business environment and quality of life businesses are finding in the West Valley and throughout Arizona,” said Sandra Watson, Arizona Commerce Authority President & CEO. “We could not be prouder that a brand like Red Bull continues to grow in our state and we look forward to supporting its success well into the future.”
“Here we grow again,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers. “It is clear based on their renewed commitment to the City that Red Bull’s experience here in Glendale and the region has been a positive one and we look forward to working with them for years to come.”
The announcement comes on the heels of more than 5.4 million square feet of development in the area, which has made headlines over the past 3 months. “It is extremely rewarding to see a partner that enjoyed the development experience in Glendale so much that in less than a year they have decided to expand,” said Councilmember Joyce Clark. “Repeat customers are the best customers. That is a true sign of when you are doing something right and Yucca residents are noticing.”
