Do you live in a community that is served by a homeowner’s association (HOA)? Are you a board member of an HOA? Are you just interested in learning more about HOAs?

Class #5 – May 21, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

CHARTING YOUR COURSE: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO BOARD RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN HOAS/CONDOS. 

  • You have recently been elected to the board of directors...now what? in this class, we will cover the roles, responsibilities, risks, and fiduciary duties of board members in an HOA or Condo.

Class #6 – June 18, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

UNTANGLING THE WEB: NAVIGATING POLITICS AND FAQS IN HOAS/CONDOS 

  • In this class, we will discuss the politics inside and outside of an HOA/Condo and address our firm's most frequently asked questions.

Class #7 – July 16, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

AMENDING CC&Rs AND IMPLEMENTING RENTAL RESTRICTIONS & BUDGET PLANNING

  • Learn our 5-step plan for confidently amending CC&Rs, including implementing rental restrictions. We'll also provide an overview on how and when to create HOA/condo budget and provide tips on how to read financials. The class will conclude with a Q&A session!

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION AND SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL ASSOCIATIONS

  • Your community association is a business, a nonprofit corporation governed by the declaration of CC&Rs, articles of incorporation and by-laws. Join this class where we will give you an overview that will define HOAs, the governing documents, organizational structure, rights and responsibilities of the board of directors and homeowners. Lastly, this class will provide tips and tricks to effectively run your board and everything you need to know to have a strong and effective board.

Class #9 – September 17, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

THE ABCs OF ENFORCEMENT FOR HOAs AND CONDOS!

  • How to best handle violations, fines, lawsuits, refusal of owners to pay assessments and owners who make changes to their property but don't get approval first...we will cover it all! We will also offer a Q&A session at the end of the class so make sure to bring your questions. 

Class #10 – October 15, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE, FEDERAL LAWS AND PREVENTING CRIMES & LIMITING LIABILITY IN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS 

  • In this class, we will provide an overview on the new laws impacting HOAs/condos, discuss federal laws pertaining to community associations including a deep dive into the Fair House Act, assistance animals, group homes and more. We'll also provide tips for preventing crime and limiting liability in HOAs/condos. Don't miss this informative class on important topics! 

Class #11 – November 19, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

SOLUTION FOR RENTAL PROPERTIES & PARKING HEADACHES 

  • How HOAs/condos can best handle rental properties (including a discussion on short term rentals) and parking issues. As always, we will have a free Q&A session at the end of the class.

Class #12 – December 6, 2024, 11:00am-12:00pm

LIVE VIRTUAL FIRST FRIDAY EVENT 

  • Deck the hall with questions! The final class of 2024 will be held in combination with our firm's live virtual first friday event. We'll discuss holiday decorations and jump straight to a live Q&A session.
