Sweetwater, the world’s leading music instrument and pro audio gear eCommerce provider, is opening a new facility in Glendale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. It’s the company’s first distribution center outside of its headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The 350,000 square foot building located at 16801 Glendale Avenue will serve as a fulfillment center for the tens of thousands of products and accessories sold by Sweetwater, including pro audio gear like microphones, speakers, mixers, and amplifiers as well as drums, guitars, and band & orchestra instruments.
“The opening of this new fulfillment center is one more way for us to provide the exceptional experience our customers have come to know and love,” said President & CEO John Hopkins. “Those who live in the western part of the country often have to wait several days for their orders to arrive from our facility in Indiana. This will change that dramatically.”
“I’m honored to welcome Sweetwater to our thriving city,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers. “Their investment will enable them to create a better customer experience for their clients and will bring more than 100 jobs to the area. They join a growing number of global and national corporations who now call Glendale home.”
“Because of our strong partnership with FedEx, thousands of packages will be able to reach their destinations on the west coast within a day or two,” added SVP & Chief Supply Chain Officer Phil Rich. “We are integrating state-of-the-art technology into this facility to ensure that items are shipped quickly, efficiently, and accurately.
"We're excited to have Sweetwater, a global music-technology leader, select Greater Phoenix to expand its distribution capabilities and better reach Mountain West consumers," said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. "With the regional infrastructure, talent and connectivity to successfully scale business, Sweetwater joins a thriving manufacturing and distribution ecosystem, and we look forward to being a partner in their continued success."
Sweetwater will begin hiring to fill as many as 165 positions, including shift supervisors, pickers, packers, and machine operators, in August. The fulfillment center should be operational by October.
