City Earns National Recognition For Financial Award
Glendale recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States & Canada
For the 34th straight year and 36th year overall, the city of Glendale has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The city won the award for its financial reporting for the 2020-21 fiscal year.
“I couldn’t be prouder of Assistant City Manager Vicki Rios and her team for the great job they have done to continue to earn the city this award for over three decades,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers. “Their commitment to excellence in preparing the city’s annual comprehensive financial report is evidence of the quality of work from the entire department.”
The report was judged by an impartial panel to see who met the high standards of the program, clearly communicated their financial story and motivated potential users and user groups to read the report.
This Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by the city of Glendale.
