DEMENTIA FRIENDLY GLENDALE OFFERS ‘MEMORY CAFÉ’
This monthly gathering takes place on the third Tuesday of each month

The city of Glendale’s Dementia Friendly action team has launched a free, monthly program series called ‘Memory Café.’ Glendale was deemed a Dementia Friendly City in July 2021. As part of that designation, Glendale plans to host events like this throughout the year.

This event allows people living with Dementia and their care partners to participate in social engagement and make meaningful connections with others in the community.

“We are so happy to partner with Banner Sun Health Research Institute, to bring dementia friendly programs to the city of Glendale,” said Jeannie Grates, CDP, Community Business Development Director with Cogir Management USA, Inc. “Monthly gatherings lead to assistance for both those who live with this disease, as well as their caretakers. We are happy to have the opportunity to connect people in the community with the resources they need.”

“Memory Café goes a long way for members in our community to help them live their best life and not feel alone,” continued Grates. “We want to help remove the stigma
surrounding dementia and we believe these educational programs through our Memory Café assist with that.”

The ‘Memory Café program has been very successful worldwide and the city of Glendale is proud to be able to host this monthly event within our city limits. The program is absolutely FREE and no registration is required. All gatherings will take place at FRAC, located at 5600 W. Union Hills Drive in Glendale.
