New pilot program connects Glendale riders with transportation using mobile app
Riders in Glendale familiar with on-demand or ridesharing services are being offered a new pilot program today. Instead of waiting on hold to book a dial-a-ride trip or relying on fixed-route transit, riders will now be able to request rides as needed by using the “TransLoc” mobile app. Glendale Transit is now offering this on-demand, curb-to-curb dial-a-ride shuttle service in select areas with origins and trip destinations north of Thunderbird Road and within the city limits.
Within this service area, rides are priced at $2.00 one way and are offered weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. as part of a six-month pilot program. The program is open to anyone in the selected service area and will operate in north Glendale beginning March 9. The program will run until the first week of September 2020.
Riders can also schedule a Glendale OnDemand trip over the phone by calling Glendale Dial-A-Ride at 623-930-3500. Cash remains a payment option and unlike other ridesharing services, Glendale OnDemand does not use surge pricing during busy times.
Download the “TransLoc” mobile app today to schedule and pay for your next trip with Glendale OnDemand.
