Celebrate Halloween Comicfest At Velma Teague Library
It’s time for jack-o’-lanterns, bats – and Batman! Drawn to Comics, downtown Glendale's source for comic books, gaming and collectibles, is proud to partner with the Velma Teague Library on Saturday, October 28, to bring you another spooktacular Halloween ComicFest experience!
Activities for all ages will take place inside the Velma Teague Library (7010 N. 58th Ave.) and outside in Murphy Park from 5-8 p.m. as well as inside the Drawn to Comics store located across the street (5801 W. Glendale Ave.). Enjoy local artists, select vendors, crafts, games, cosplay and of course, free comics! Comics will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
“We are so excited to once again be collaborating with the library to bring you all free comics, astounding artists, cosplay, entertainment and more,” said Ken Brown, owner of Drawn to Comics. “We can’t wait to have you all join us on October 28.”
Meet comic book artists and buy custom creations from vendors. Watch live lightsaber combat choreographed by Syndicate Saber United and medieval combat demonstrations by the Kingdom of Umbria outside the library in Murphy Park. Help your kids create their own easy creepy crafts! Compete in the Halloween-themed Super Smash Bros. video game tournament hosted by Umbrella Corporation Arizona Hive. Pose for photo ops with local cosplayers. Feel free to wear your own costume!
“The Velma Teague Library is pleased to partner again this year with Drawn to Comics to offer this celebration in downtown Glendale,” said Greg Kinder, Administrative Librarian.
Halloween ComicFest is an annual event held on the last Saturday in October, during which participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away exclusive comic books for free to showcase the industry.
