Volunteer

Most of us know someone that has been a victim of a crime. A neighbor, a relative, a friend and sometimes even ourselves. It’s unfortunate, but crimes take place every day. Victims often need immediate assistance to deal with what has happened.

Volunteers can get involved and provide assistance in many ways.

  • Court Support - help relay victim’s input for court proceedings
  • Special Projects - assist with projects or routine office duties

Application Process:

Victim assistance volunteers have clearance through the Glendale Police Department. All volunteer applicants are extensively screened. The application process includes:

  • Interview with victim assistance staff
  • Background investigation through the Glendale Police Department, including an extensive personal history
  • Polygraph

Volunteer Training:

Volunteers are expected to provide a minimum of four hours of service per month. Upon acceptance into the volunteer program, volunteers attend in-depth training focused on victimization, crisis intervention and the criminal justice system.
