Glendale Avenue Reconstruction Project
Reconstruction of North Side of Glendale Avenue Continues
Work continues for reconstruction of Glendale Avenue from 99th Avenue to El Mirage Road. The segment of roadway from, and including, the 99th Avenue intersection to just east of the Agua Fria Bridge will be concrete, with the segment west of the Agua Fria Bridge to El Mirage Road remaining asphalt. The project includes drainage improvements, concrete work, asphalt sidewalk, and street lighting. Project completion is expected in Spring 2022.
- Crews continue work reconstructing the concrete roadway on the north side of Glendale Avenue from the Agua Fria Bridge to 99th Avenue, with traffic restrictions currently in place to accommodate this work. Glendale Avenue traffic is currently shifted to the south side of Glendale Avenue from 99th Avenue to the Agua Fria Bridge, one lane in each direction, onto the newly placed concrete pavement.
- Glen Harbor Boulevard is currently CLOSED on the north side of Glendale Avenue and expected to be reopened Friday, October 22.
- Crews continue work pouring concrete roadway for the remainder of the 115th Ave/Landfill entrance, driveways, sidewalk, and catch basins for drainage from 99th Avenue to New River. Also scheduled for Friday, October 22, access to the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) will be restored at the Glendale Avenue driveway access to that facility.
- Scheduled for November 1, crews will begin work to prepare and pour concrete near 99th Avenue at the Roosevelt Irrigation District (RID) facilities. This work is taking place during RID’s scheduled dry-up period.
- Work also continues for electric with work on streetlights on the north side of Glendale Avenue, east of Glen Harbor Blvd, and for drainage components of the project, such as storm drain, drywell installation, and retention basin excavation.
- Access to businesses and facilities is being maintained and detour signage is in place to direct travelers around the restrictions. Please allow extra time for travel during this work.
Thank you for your patience during this work!
