GLENDALE, Ariz. –Global sports entertainment leader Topgolf® has announced that it will build its newest venue in Glendale, AZ, offering visitors an interactive social experience that can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels with point-scoring golf games, music, food and beverage.

The Dallas-based company plans to begin construction of a 65,000 square-foot sports entertainment venue at the northeast corner of Bethany Home Rd. and 99th Ave. This location is just west of the Loop 101 and the Glendale Sports and Entertainment District, which includes the University of Phoenix Stadium, Gila River Arena, Tanger Outlets and Westgate. If okayed, construction is expected to begin in Fall of 2017 and the new venue is expected to open in Fall of 2018.

“We’re excited to welcome Topgolf, a premier name in entertainment, as the newest addition to the greater Glendale Sports and Entertainment District,” said Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps. “Topgolf and this vibrant, dynamic area are a perfect match, offering residents and visitors alike even more fun entertainment options. This signature opportunity goes a long way in furthering the type of quality growth Glendale is attracting to this thriving district.”

The Glendale City Council approved Topgolf’s purchase of a vacant 13-acre parcel of city-owned land for the project last night. According to city officials, the land sale demonstrates Glendale’s commitment to positive growth and development by maximizing the use of its assets and resources for important economic drivers such as Topgolf.

This will be Topgolf’s third entertainment venue to come to the Valley since established in 2000. The new three-level facility will house 102 climate-controlled hitting bays and 3,000 square-feet of private event space. The new Topgolf Glendale venue will create 500 full and part-time jobs. It is expected Topgolf Glendale will serve approximately 450,000 visitors in its first year of operation, generating an economic output of $264.5 million over a 10-year period.
“Topgolf’s new location in Glendale means new jobs, new entertainment options for residents and visitors and an increase in tax revenue for the city,” said Brian Friedman, Glendale’s economic development director. “This new venue is yet another destination attraction that is an ideal fit for our booming Glendale Sports and Entertainment District.”
