Details:
The event is open to artists (18 years of age & older) who paint using the Plein Air technique in oil, watercolor, acrylic or pastel. Plein Air (open air) paintings are executed outdoors. Paintings must be done within Glendale city limits. Canvas size not to exceed 18x24. All artists must bring their own materials and easels and register prior to any work being done.
Registration will take place from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on event day at the park near the east end of the Fruit Packing Shed.
At 3:00 p.m. artists will start to line up with their artworks on easels along the east end of the Fruit Packing Shed for judging to begin at 3:30 p.m. Award categories are purchase awards and the winning paintings will be accessioned into the City of Glendale’s portable art collection. The award categories are:
• Heritage Award - $1,000 award
• First Place - $1,000 award
• Second Place - $700 award
• Third Place - $400 award
This event is presented by City of Glendale Arts & Culture at the 2024 Folk & Heritage Festival.
