UPDATE:

PARKS PHASE I AMENITIES REOPENING AS OF 5/16/20

Most Glendale park amenities will reopen on Saturday May 16, 2020, in accordance with Governor Doug Ducey’s ‘Stay Healthy, Return Smarter, Return Stronger’ executive order.

The park amenities that have been closed and will reopen on May 16 include dog parks, playgrounds and sport courts. Skate courts will not be open at this time.

Park ramadas will be available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis only. Reservations will not be accepted for any park ramadas at this time. Social distancing guidelines should be observed at all park ramadas and throughout park areas.

Important note: some park restrooms will open on Friday, May 22. Some park restrooms may not reopen due to facility conditions.

Park playgrounds have been power washed during the closure. Park ramadas are power washed on an ongoing basis as part of routine maintenance.

Park users are encouraged to continue following all CDC guidelines, including maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet of space between individuals; washing hands and/or using hand sanitizer; and wearing masks or face covering if able. In addition, those who are sick or who may have been exposed to COVID-19 are asked to avoid public spaces.

SPLASH PAD WILL OPEN ON MAY 23, 2020

The Glendale Heroes Regional Park splash pad will open for the season on Saturday, May 23.

Splash pad users, and all those visiting Glendale parks, are encouraged to continue following all CDC guidelines, including maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet of space between individuals; and washing hands and/or using hand sanitizer. In addition, those who are sick or who may have been exposed to COVID-19 are asked to avoid public spaces.

    Available for a variety of activities in a beautiful, historic ranch setting, this facility offers a large multi-purpose building, that has hosted such events as art exhibits, and a large outdoor area that hosts such events as the Antique Tractor Show .     Murphy Park and AmphitheatreAmphitheatre
    Surrounded by unique shops and restaurants, Murphy Park is located in historic downtown Glendale and is the site of many of the city's special events including Glendale Glitters, Summer Band Concerts and Movies by Moonlight. This charming neighborhood park features an expansive open-air amphitheatre and over two acres of shade trees, walking paths and grass areas, with the Velma Teague Branch Library nestled in the middle.

    Interested in using Murphy Park or the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre forAmphitheatre an event or performance? Murphy Park has a capacity of 3,000 and the Amphitheatre will seat 400. Call 623-930-2820 for inquiries. Reservations may be made up to one year in advance.


    Public Meeting Rooms
    The city has a variety of meeting rooms available for meetings, seminars and civic programs. Facilities may not be reserved for personal, family-related events (see Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center and the Glendale Adult Center). For information, please call 623-930-2820.

    Library Meeting RoomsHeroes Library
    The Glendale Public Library offers a variety of rental spaces at the Foothills Library, Heroes Regional Park Library, and Main Library. All rentals require a two-hour minimum rental time and may require a refundable cleaning deposit.
